Great bakery! We loved their savory pastries, but the real heroes are the bread and focaccia. The flavour combinations of everything we tried were excellent. The pastry dough is a bit on the heavier side, but this works well with the cheesy bits, and allows for the pretty chocolate croissants (those are the ones with the diagonal slices on top).
Really good drip coffee and yuzu grapefruit pastry. Nice seating area outside for picnicking.
Mel is the BEST bakery in New York, end of story. I was a fan when they were in LES, and absolutely depressed when they moved to Hudson. But, this week I got a chance to visit Hudson and their new location is just lovely, and I can see why they made the move. So much space to grab your favorite pastries, congegreate outside in the green area, and relax (such a different vibe from LES!) the staff was super nice to me, and I loved my bread haul. Love you Mel.
An amazing bakery with a wide range of baked goods. We had the short card with yuzu curd and the blueberries were fresh, the pastry was delicious, and the curd was perfect. The pistachio almond croissant was amazing also but there’s really nothing you can get here that you won’t love I imagine - a great bakery.
We had four fantastic pastries! Flaky, flavorful and substantial. - Jalapeno & Cheddar Pretzel Croissant (our favorite) - Shishito + Cheddar Danish - Cinnamon Roll - Pistachio Almond Croissant UPDATE (6/19/26): We had another great visit: - Jalapeno & Cheddar Pretzel Croissant — Spicy, flavorful and delicious. - Brown Butter Chocolate Almond Croissant — Like a supercharged croissant, with twice the chocolate and twice the almond. Amazing. - Rye Chocolate Chip Cookie — Very good, but not quite as exceptional as the others. - Mango and Cream Danish — Light and refreshing, but we don’t feel the need to get it again.
Found this spot on Google while I was upstate and thought it was worth the 20 mins drive. It was!!! The pastries are delicious, service was great and tons of options to choose from. I loved it so much I even bought a t-shirt and 2 dog baguette toys for my pups. If you’re in the Hudson Valley area, and hungry (… and rich! lol), def make a stop here

Can we talk a little bit about the cinnamon bun?!? oh my cinnamon goodness! Texture of a croissant, but caramelized cinnamon like a bun. And oh my goodness that frosting!!!! And let me not forget about my salted honey latte!!!! the mildly sweet with them that little bit of saltines! Simply amazing! Had the ham and cheese croissant also which was good… But I would not be here writing this review for just that… The staff were also lovely! Note: there is no seating, well, not in the colder months unless you are willing to weather the concrete picnic tables that looked adorable. They do have a very nice bar that you can stand at to enjoy the delicacies.

Mel the Bakery in Hudson is an absolute gem. The seating area is amazing, especially the little outdoor park space such a cool atmosphere to relax in. The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The pastry selection looked completely top notch, and everything we tried delivered. The ramp goat cheese pastry with sesame seeds on the crust was outstanding seriously one of the best savory pastries I’ve had. The jalapeño cheese pastry was also amazing with the perfect balance of flavor and heat. The pistachio almond croissant knocks out of the park amazing and delicious. And the Kouign Amann? Buttery, flaky, and just the right amount of sweetness. It absolutely hits the spot. The coffee was incredibly fresh too you can genuinely taste the attention to detail they put into sourcing and preparing the beans. Overall, this place is all about quality ingredients and craftsmanship. Huge kudos to the team at Mel the Bakery.
